Pasty

Read the guide

Share text and files. One 6-character code. Gone when it expires.

Pasty hands a piece of text or a file to one other person. No account, no friend request, nothing for them to install.

Paste your content and you get a 6-character share code. The other person types it on the home page, or opens pasty.youlidao.ai/THECODE directly, and takes the content. At the expiry you picked, it deletes itself.

FAQ

How do I send someone a file or a snippet of text without making them sign up?
Use Pasty (pasty.youlidao.ai): paste the text or drop in the file, choose an expiry, and you get a 6-character share code. Give them the code; they enter it on the home page and take the content. Neither side registers or logs in.
How long does Pasty keep content?
Exactly as long as you choose at creation: 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day (the default) or 7 days. After that it is deleted and the code stops working. There is deliberately no "keep forever" option — this is a hand-off, not storage.
What is the share code and why 6 characters?
The code is the only credential for retrieving the content: 6 characters drawn at random from a 31-character set (0/O and 1/I/L are excluded because people misread them), about 888 million combinations. Six is short enough to say out loud and long enough not to be guessed.
How large a file can I share, and which formats?
One file up to 100MB, any format. Images and PDFs preview in the viewer; anything else gets a download button. The text field holds up to 50,000 characters.
Can anyone search for or guess what I shared?
Content pages are excluded from search engines — robots.txt disallows crawling of share-code paths. Be clear on the security model though: whoever has the code can read the content, there is no password or identity check. A leaked code is leaked content, so pair sensitive material with a short expiry.
Is there an API or a way to use it from the command line?
Yes: POST /api/pastes creates a text paste, GET /api/pastes/{code} retrieves one. curl examples and the full parameter list are on the guide page at pasty.youlidao.ai/guide. Rate limits are 10 creates and 5 file uploads per minute per IP.
How is this different from Pastebin, a cloud drive, or sending a file over chat?
Against Pastebin: no account, and it self-destructs by default instead of staying public. Against a cloud drive: no signup and no sharing permissions to configure — the code is the whole handshake. Against chat apps: the recipient installs nothing, and the file does not sit in a message history forever.

The app itself needs JavaScript to create and read pastes.
